Tennis in the Community
Not only do we provide a full adult and junior coaching programme for all ages and abilities which include Cardio Tennis, mix ins, matchplay, holiday camps and individual lessons, we are very committed and active in the local community.
Our involvement in schools, colleges and universities:
Infant Schools: Netley Abbey, Colin provides a daily tennis activity during the lunch break.
JuniorPrimary Schools: Netley Abbey, Hamble, Bursledon, Botley, Harefield, Sholing, King’s Copse, Crofton Anne Dale. JEM Tennis provides after school clubs, breakfast clubs, curricular and non-curricular tennis, Sports Weeks, Holiday Activity Camps and school fairs.
Senior Schools: Hamble, Wildern, Wyvern, Deer Park, Crestwood.
Colleges: We have worked with students from Itchen College, Brookfield, Eastleigh College, Barton Peverill, Portsmouth Grammar School, Wildern, Oasis Mayfield and Fareham College.
Universities: We have been providing the Solent University team practises and training for 6 years.
LTA Initiatives we have been and are currently involved with:
Youth Start, Road to Wimbledon, Play Your Way to Wimbledon, Quorn Cup, Beneden Cup, Team Challenge, Great British Tennis Weekends, Cardio Tennis, Mini Tennis, Open Court, Disability Tennis, Tennis Leaders courses, Competition Organisers courses, Walking Tennis, Miss-Hits.
Eastleigh Borough Council Initiatives:
Park Sport, Summer of Sport, This Girl Can, Menopausal Warriors.
Other Initiatives:
Teddy Tennis for preschool children, School Games, touchtennis, Friday Night Project.
All our coaches attend regular CPD courses to keep their coaching skills and knowledge up to date.

Childhood Bereavement: An introduction, what you can do to help; Introduction to adverse childhood experiences and early trauma; Managing behaviour that challenges; Mental Health Awareness; Mental health awareness. for sport and physical activity; ASD module 1; ASD module 2; ASD module 3; Learning Theory; Time to listen (LTA); Introduction to BSL; Sensory processing (Griffin OT); The complete SEND diploma level 2,3 and 4; Assessing and teaching social skills; developing self-esteem and friendship skills; Sensory circuits; Anti-bullying alliance modules 1-10; Safeguarding (LTA); First aid in the workplace.
